Cohort model working with the class of 2012. Will add students to the cohort as they move to the high schools.

Program Components:

The Pasadena GEAR UP for Success program serves students and parents through the following:

  1. Tutorial programs
  2. Parent meetings
  3. Enrichment programs (increased support for Pre-AP and AP)
  4. Campus higher education campaigns
  5. GEAR UP Portfolio development
  6. College field trips
  7. Mentoring activities
  8. Summer camps
  9. Staff development for campus teachers

The Pasadena GEAR UP for Success program serves students and parents through the following:

  1. Overview of GEAR UP
  2. Local Post-Secondary Education
  3. Financial Aid
  4. Importance of Academics
  5. Careers
  6. Summer Program Opportunities
  7. Transition to High School

Rotary, San Jacinto College Central Campus, HOSTS (Helping One Student To Succeed)

Additional Contributing Organizations:

Washington Mutual, Brady Hull and Associates, Communities in Schools

Beverly Hills, Park View, Jackson, Queens, Southmore, South Houston, Miller, San Jacinto. Starting in 2008-2009: Pasadena, Sam Rayburn, Dobie, Pasadena Memorial, South Houston. All campuses are Title 1
