Roads Scholars

First things first, educators—there's absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to go to school close to home, as we all know.  But there's definitely nothing wrong with wanting to learn in other locales either! No matter what, going to college—especially outside of a student's hometown—means getting used to a lot of big changes. And UTEP Proyecto M.A.S. had a few good ideas about just how to get students' toes wet as they gear up to potentially make the transition into a bigger pond.

Our newest "Texas GEAR UP in Action" video will take you on a college road trip with some bright young El Paso students as they explore opportunities way outside of their west-Texas town. Talk about broadening your horizons! Check out the video for student and educator perspectives on their travels, which were also paired with summer academic-enrichment programs to make sure the learning continued at home. And if you're looking for even more info on the program, there's no need to even leave your seat—we've got you covered right here in the Toolbox. Happy trails to you!
